5 Uses For Coconut Oil

Now, coconut oil might be my favorite thing in the world (besides wine and chocolate of course). It's the first thing I put on out of the shower, it's in my perfume and I put it in my hair every night. That being said, even I never thought to use it in these ways.

#1 You Can Shave Your Legs With It Yep, you read that right. Instead of foamy shaving cream that doesn't give the best view of your skin, use coconut oil! It's clear, moisturizing and oh-so good for your skin. Even better, your razor will glide over smoothly so there's no risk of cuts.

#2 Moisturizing Eye Makeup Remover I'm a longtime user of makeup removing towelettes, but since switching to this I've noticed my eye makeup comes off SO much easier. A little dollop on a cotton ball is all you need to remove waxy eye makeup. It also leaves eyes hydrated, so it's basically a 2 in 1!

#3 Homemade Makeup Brush Cleaner Lets be honest here, who ACTUALLY cleans their makeup brushes weekly? Monthly? I'm guilty of slacking off on that myself. This super easy recipe will make sure you keep your brushes clean and soft all the time --> mix 1 tablespoon of coconut oil with 2 tablespoons of antibacterial soap and a dash of water. Wet your brushes with warm water and gently massage the mixture into them and rinse. Repeat as necessary until the water runs clear.

#4 Homemade Deodorant The struggle is REAL trying to find an all natural deodorant that actually works. Enter coconut oil. This is a great base for homemade deodorant and it's so easy to make. Mix 1/2 cup of coconut oil with 1 1/2 teaspoons of arrowroot, cornstarch and baking soda. You can also add a few drops of essential oils in a scent of your choosing.

#5 To Strengthen Nails Do you suffer from brittle nails that crack and split easily? Massage coconut oil into the base of your nails daily and you'll see results. Bonus, massage the extra oil into your hands to keep them nice and moisturized.

Happy Pampering!
